One of the principle design requirements for this home was that it be a place that brings a family together. There are living spaces dedicated to visiting family members, including a bedroom for three granddaughters and a multi purpose bunk house for games, exercise and sleeping quarters.  The main social space comprises a great room, kitchen, and a sun room/dining area overlooked by a curved mezzanine.  The home was designed with a number of personal, artistic features such as stained glass windows, art niches, rustic tile design, and custom cabinets. The hand plastered walls set off the site-built timbered trusses. On the exterior, social spaces include a fireplace in a covered porch, a spa, and a large deck surrounded by massive boulders.
